4H Camp

Commitment to Community

We strive to stay involved.

4-H Camps

Consolidated Electric Cooperative personnel partners with Education Specialists from Central Electric Power Cooperative (CEPC) to provide 4-H Summer Camp electric-related activities at Camp Cedar Crest and Camp and Camp Colborn every summer. With assistance, campers are able to make their own extension cord or desk lamp using insulators during the electricity session.

School Programs

Energy efficiency and conservation education is also a part of the school curriculum for middle school age children. Letters are mailed to all schools in the Cooperative service territory each fall, any teacher that is interested in scheduling a presentation can call to coordinate. To express interest or find out more information, read more about the free programs available to schools or contact 573-581-3630.

Power Town Safety Demonstrations

Cooperative linemen and CEPC Education Specialists work year-round providing electrical safety demonstrations to students throughout the CEC service territory. A traveling Power Town kit offers the opportunity for educators to discuss substations, electric lines, trees near power lines and how to respond if involved in vehicular accidents involving power lines. Children are able to see an actual display of electricity arcing throughout parts of the live demonstration.

Volunteer Assistance

Cooperative employees feel strongly about giving back to their communities and often give their time outside of their regular work day to work on a project or participate in an event. Employees have dedicated countless hours to assisting with the installation of holiday lights, ball field light poles, ball field lights, flag poles, parades, festivals, 4-H arena lights, and many, many more.

Community Assistance

CEC employees are always happy to lend their hand to help when activities and events take place. We enjoy educating about the many career opportunities available in the electric cooperative industry at high school career fairs. We are proud to have been able to assist in the installation of several storm sirens throughout the CEC service territory to help ensure the safety of our members and the general public during severe weather. We have been called on to assist with various business signs that needed removal or re-hanging, flags to be hung in preparation for community events such as Miss Missouri, Memorial Day, Honor Flight. If you know of a way we can be involved helping your community, please reach out to us.
